Elearning Benchmarking Survey 2008 results

I’ve heard a whisper that the Tassie stats are impressive so…

Run since 2005, this year surveyed 4500 VET students, staff and associates across the nation. Ian Phillips presented the results:

36% of all RTO enrolments involve elarning in some form
Broad definition of elearning is used
Jumped from 29% last year.

In 2008
Tas – 71%
Vic – 54%
Sa – 38%

Tafe 37

90% students and teachers experience elearning somewhere in their course / teaching

86% of units involve elearning

Improved computer skills and job prospects from elearning

More students want more elearning, more so than teachers expect their students to have.

Growing influence of elearning in making choices about training.

62% of teachers say elearning has improved their teaching practice – caused development and reflection.

Still not a common part of RTO business strategies at only 45%

42% of RTOS use no elearning, and have no ebusiness functions.
