both an article and podcast providing some guidelines on podcasting in education, quite a bit of commonsense, and would provide a good summary for beginners in this area. Conversation between Susan Smith Nash and Rob Reynolds of Xplanazine.

Collections of Software

A couple of collections of software that have been circulating around the blogosphere.
Portable applications can be loaded onto a USB drive meaning they can be used wherever needed. This can mean having your usual tools at your fingertips and not worrying so much about compatibility of files.

Social Bookmarking

This looks like it would be a good reference/ handout for using with colleagues. I particularly liked the scenarios on the first page comparing two people - one using bookmarks based on their computer, and the other using web-based social bookmarking processes.

Another Flickr thingy

Slickr is a Flickr screen saver that shows images by:

Over the past 2 - 3 years in my blog, the […]

Flickr as the introductory Social Software tool

Alan Levine suggests that when introducing Social Software and Web 2.0 in demonstrations, a ‘less is more’ approach could be the key. “There is a lot of social software one can do with just one little flickr.”
I’ve experienced this myself in workshops where I combined Blogging and RSS using Bloglines. One or the […]

Flickr Advanced User Guide

“Photo-sharing web application Flickr is like an onion: it has many, many layers to discover … time to point out some of the more advanced features of the amazing, ever-evolving (yet e-less) service.”
This could be a great resource for using when introducing Flickr to teachers who already know a bit […]

Change to WordPress

Well, I finally made the move from Movable Type to WordPress. The only fiddly bit was moving my test install over to the right directory and changing some settings. So now I can have comments open and also there is a neat plugin for integrating Flickr photos. Another plugin for adding keywords to posts is […]

Professional Judgement resources

Resources from the Professional Judgment in VET Forums conducted by Reframing the Future in August 2005. These look like they would be useful for workshops with staff about this topic.
One thing that bugs me about the Reframing the Future website is that the URL in the address bar does not reflect where […]
